University Avenue Phase I Reconstruction is into the final stages of construction. Beginning as early as Friday, June 2, the contractor will continue road work on University Avenue and work in the center of the roundabout at Waterloo Road by shifting traffic back into normal lanes from Grove Street to McClain Drive. There may continue to be single lane closures as the contractor works in the center of the roundabouts or other points of the median along the corridor. Turning lanes at Melrose Drive and the Black Hawk Village entrance will be constructed during this time, as well as various landscaping features. This work is expected to continue for the next eight weeks. Below is a map showing the traffic pattern and business access locations.
For safety's sake, please observe detour routing and avoid entering the barricaded construction area. Heavy equipment will be moving back and forth in closed areas. Please try to support the businesses during construction by using detours or alternate routes.
