On Monday, May 16, 2016, contractors (Cunningham Construction Inc. of Cedar Falls) will begin removal and reconstruction of the north half of University Avenue from Grove Street to McClain Drive.
Traffic will be shifted head to head on the south half of University Avenue from Blackhawk Village to Hillcrest Drive. The lane closures will be in effect for four to five months, depending on the weather.
Removal and reconstruction of the Boulder Drive and Idaho Road intersection will also begin. A road closure will be in effect for five to seven weeks, depending on the weather.
Please observe detour routing and avoid entering the barricaded construction area. Heavy equipment will be moving back and forth in closed areas.
The City encourages residents and out-of-town shoppers to continue to patronize businesses along the construction area, as access to all businesses remains open. Signs are posted along the route to direct traffic to businesses.
