A National Household Travel Survey (NHTS) will be conducted in Black Hawk County during the next twelve months. Approximately one in three households will be randomly selected to complete a travel log of all people in the household over a 24-hour period. A survey of this magnitude has not been completed for this area since 1969, Data gathered from the survey will be used to assist in local traffic forecasting and long-term transportation planning. Surveys will be mailed on a continuous basis until April of 2017. Participation is voluntary, but if your household is invited to take the survey, we hope you will consider participating.
The Iowa Northland Regional Council Of Governments (INRCOG) is coordinating the survey. For more information, contact the INRCOG director, Kevin Blanshan, at kblanshan@inrcog.org.
