[ARCHIVED] President Obama Recognizes Cedar Falls' Broadband Capabilities

On January 14th 2015 the President of the United States, Barak Obama, traveled to Cedar Falls Iowa to recognize Cedar Falls as providing to residents and business owners one of the nation’s best high-speed Internet services.   The Cedar Falls Utilities offers more than 11,500 Cedar Falls homes and businesses Internet connections up to 1 gigabit per second. Mark Reifenrath, CEO of the local technology company SpinUTech, had the honor of talking about the business he began as a student at UNI and introduced the President of the United States.  Hundreds of CFU staff and community leaders gathered to hear the President’s Speech as the President announced plans for improving community broadband competition.
