[ARCHIVED] Cedar Falls Police and Target Team Up For National Night Out! - August 5, 2014
On August 5, 2014 the Cedar Falls Police Department will be working with the Target Retail Store located at 214 Viking Plaza Drive in Cedar Falls to celebrate National Night Out Against Crime from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. This will be the fifth time since their opening in the fall of 2009 that Target has teamed up with the police department. The Target Corporation is a national sponsor of this event.
Fingerprinting will be available to parents for their children along with numerous other activities for the children including; bingo, child friendly handouts, giveaways and refreshments and treats. A cookout is scheduled to take place with free hot dogs available.
Weather permitting, the Covenant Hospital AirCare helicopter will be on display along with its flight crew to answer questions and allow people to get a close-up look at the airborne ambulance. There will also be fire trucks, an ambulance, police K9, squad cars and police bicycles on display along with the chance to speak with and ask questions of members of each department that provide these services to the community. Agencies tentatively scheduled to attend are: Cedar Falls Police Department, Cedar Falls Fire Rescue, Covenant Hospital, Iowa State Patrol, Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office, and AAA Travel and Insurance.
This is a great opportunity to meet and talk with emergency services personnel for children and adults alike; while learning about crime prevention and safety. We hope to set a new attendance record this year and remind everyone to drive carefully before and after the event.
