[ARCHIVED] Cedar Falls Police to enforce 48 hour parking ordinance January 14th

The Cedar Falls Police Department would like to remind residents of the 48-hour parking ordinance. With the recent snow fall in the metro area, snow plows and salt trucks need to be able to remove snow in all public right-of-ways to help ensure safe travel throughout town.
Beginning Friday January 14th at 8:00 AM, the Cedar Falls Police Department will begin ticketing all vehicles in violations of the 48 hour ordinance. This is in response to the snowfall on January 10th and 11th. Owners of vehicles parked on city streets continuously for over 48 hours are asked to move their vehicles to private driveways or areas of the street which have been plowed. Any vehicle not moved within 24 hours after receiving a citation will be towed at the owner’s expense.

Residents are also reminded to clear their abutting sidewalks of snow and ice in accordance with city ordinance. Also beginning Friday January 14th at 8:00 AM, the city will begin serving notices to residents who have not cleared the sidewalk abutting their property.
The Cedar Falls Police Department is again asking the assistance of the public to help ensure safe travel for motorists and pedestrians throughout this winter season.
