At this time, the National Weather Service from Des Moines, Iowa, is predicting that the Cedar River will reach 93 feet by 6:00 am Sunday, March 14th. Flood stage is 88 feet. The river is predicted to crest at 94.52 feet by 6:00 am Monday, March 15th.

Sand and sand bags will be available at the Roller Drome lot located in Northern Cedar Falls by the end of the day on Wednesday for residents to obtain for protection of their property.
Residents are urged to be prepared to evacuate as the river levels rise in a manner that affects road closures and flooding of their property. Cedar Falls Fire Personnel will be going door to door advising residents to be prepared for the spring flooding.
Citizens are encouraged to sign up for CodeRED, which is a system that allows the City to telephone all or targeted areas of the City in case of an emergency situation that requires immediate action. The system is capable of dialing 60,000 phone numbers per hour. It then delivers a specific recorded message to a live person or an answering machine, making three attempts to connect to any number.
