In observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, the below Cedar Falls City facilities will be operating the following hours:

• City Hall – Closed November 23 and November 24.
• Hearst Center for the Arts – Closed November 23-26 (please note, the Hearst is always closed Mondays).
• Cedar Falls Public Library – Closing at 5:00 p.m. on November 22. Closed November 23 and November 24.
• Cedar Falls Community Center – Closed November 23 and November 24. 
• Cedar Falls Recreation and Fitness Center – Open 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on November 23 (8:00 a.m. Cycling, 8:00 a.m. Dance Fitness, and 9:00 a.m. Yoga will be offered on November 23). Open 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on November 24 (no fitness classes will be available on November 24).  
• Cedar Falls Tourism & Visitors Bureau – Closed November 23 and November 24 (access to information in the Visitor Center’s brochure lobby is available).

Refuse Schedule

There will be no garbage collection on Thursday, November 23, and Friday, November 24. Residents having Thursday as their collection day should put their garbage out by 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 21. Residents having Friday as their collection day should put their garbage out by 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 22. There will be no large item pickup during this week because of the need for double-route collection. Large item pickup will resume on Monday, November 27.

The Transfer Station will be open on Saturday, November 25.

As a reminder to residents, yard waste pickup on Mondays beginning December through the end of March 2024 will be done on a call-in basis. Call (319)273-8629 to make arrangements for pickup.
