Starting Friday, October 6, a private contractor will begin underground utility work on Clay Street between West 8th Street and West 9th Street. In order for the contractor to begin, a full-width closure will be needed to access the sanitary sewer main in the centerline of the road and the watermain on the westerly side of the road. Adjacent roads of West 8th Street, West 9th Street, Washington Street, and Franklin Street will be open for traffic to detour around.
The underground utility work and road repair are anticipated to take two weeks, depending on the weather. For safety's sake, please stay away from the construction area.
