Cedar Falls Public Safety invites the community to a National Night Out celebration on Tuesday, August 1, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Public Safety Center (4600 South Main Street).
Guests will get the opportunity to speak with Cedar Falls Public Safety and Black Hawk County Consolidated Dispatch personnel as well as explore emergency vehicles and enjoy kid's activities, face-painting, and games during this free event. Attendees can also meet the Pets Supplies Plus mascot. Fareway on South Main Street in Cedar Falls will be providing complimentary hot dogs, chips, and water. Scratch Cupcakery will have mini-cupcakes and cookies available as well.
For the event, the public is asked to enter the Public Safety Center from Bluebell Road directly into the fire apparatus bay's large doors.
Across the United States, National Night Out culminates annually on the first Tuesday in August to help enhance the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement.
"National Night Out is about building community relations and particularly about strengthening the connection between young citizens and public safety," said Cedar Falls Police Chief Mark Howard. "This is a great opportunity for families to get to know our team better and just have fun at the same time."
"We appreciate the help of our local partners including Black Hawk County Consolidated Dispatch, Pet Supplies Plus, Scratch Cupcakery, and Soifer Family McDonald's on bringing this event to our community. We especially thank Fareway on South Main Street for their continued support and contribution.”
