Beginning April 24, 2023, the Iowa DOT's contractor, Aspro, Inc., will be starting the first stage of the US 20 and IA 58 Resurfacing project. The overall project spans from the City of Hudson to the City of Cedar Falls along IA 58 (known as Hudson Road and South Hudson Road). The project involves the HMA resurfacing and widening of IA 58 along with bridge approach work at the US 20 Bridge. The overall project is anticipated to be completed in late October.

For Cedar Falls residents, impacts for the project will occur during this first stage where impacts to the US 20 and IA 58 (Hudson Road) bridge approach work will be taking place. During the bridge approach work, north- and southbound lanes will be reduced to a single-lane capacity on the inside lanes, while crews first work on the outside travel lanes. Then crews will shift traffic to the outside lines, while crews work on the inside lanes. In mid-summer, crews will overlay Hudson Road ending at the north side of the Ridgeway Avenue and Hudson Road intersection.
US 20 and IA 58 (Hudson Road) ramp traffic will be maintained at the interchange for the duration of the project. Detour traffic will be maintained for the IA 27/58 and US 20 interchange project taking place to the East. For safety's sake, please stay away from the construction area. Heavy equipment will be moving back and forth on the closed sections of the road. If you have any questions or concerns during the course of construction, please contact Ron Loecher with the Iowa DOT listed below:
