The Cedar Falls City Council will be considering Mark Howard for appointment to Police Chief during the Council meeting on November 7, 2022.
Howard has been part of the Cedar Falls Public Safety Department since 2007, serving as a Police Officer, Lieutenant, Captain, and is currently the Acting Police Chief. He previously served for ten years with the Waverly Police Department. Howard is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa and holds a Master of Arts in Public Policy.
Following an interview process that included two finalists selected from a total of seven applicants, Mayor Rob Green, City Administrator Ron Gaines, and Public Safety Director Craig Berte recommended Howard for the Police Chief position.
The City will continue to provide updates to the community as the selection process moves forward.
