Beginning on August 31, 2022, the contractor will begin reconstruction of the alley from Seerley Boulevard to 26th Street between Walnut Street and Iowa Street. In order for the contractor to begin, an alley closure will be required. The closure will be in effect for six to eight weeks, depending on the weather. Please see the closure area highlighted on the map below.
Garbage and yard waste collection will temporarily be moved onto the side streets, Walnut Street and Iowa Street. The time and day of pickup will not change during this time. Collection for this area of the city is still Wednesdays at 7:00 a.m. For safety's sake, please stay away from the construction area. Heavy equipment will be moving back and forth in the closed alley. It would be advisable to stay behind the sidewalk on the property side during the reconstruction work.
