View the latest Cedar Falls street construction updates for the week of September 27, 2021:

Downtown Streetscape and Reconstruction Project- On East 4th Street, the contractor will continue with the parking stall pours. The bricklaying contractor has completed the work along the west side of the 500 block and the splitter island just north of 6th Street. Once the parking stall pours are completed on East 4th Street, the remaining utility and subdrain work will precede the final brick placement along the block.

West 1st Street/HWY 57 Expansion- For the week of September 27, crews will be working on striping the new roadway, placement of sod behind the back of curb, and also placement of new signage. As crews work to finalize the project, sporadic lane closures should be expected for work behind the back of curb and also for painting operations.

2021 Street Construction Project

Brandilynn Boulevard Stage 3 has begun paving and should be ready for backfilling and landscaping during the week of September 27.

McClain Drive Stage 2 will continue working on the intersection pours this week with driveway and sidewalk replacement following.

Tremont Street will be followed up with the seeding in the following weeks.

Kaspend Place spot repairs are underway. Driveways will be poured back soon and then followed with an asphalt overlay on the street in an expected two weeks.

Union Road Recreational Trail          

During the week of September 20, sub-contractor continued paving operations north along the project. Contractor is working on intersections and embankment grading ahead of paving operations.

Cedar Heights Drive Reconstruction (Cedar Heights Drive & Greenhill Road)

For the week of September 27, crews will continue pavement removal and installation of storm sewer on the north half of the Greenhill Road and Cedar Heights Drive intersection. After the storm sewer is complete, crews will start preparing the roadway for paving in the following week. In the following weeks, crews will shift to the south side of the intersection and prepare the roadway between Greenhill Road and Cedar Hill Road. The current traffic pattern will continue with East and Westbound traffic on Greenhill Road maintained throughout construction.

2021 Permeable Alley Project (East 9th and 10th Street between Main and State Street)

During the week of September 20, the contractor has completed the removals of the alley and is working on placing the modified subbase. Once the paving prep is complete, sub-contractor will move in to pave the alley.
