Downtown Streetscape and Reconstruction Project- On East 4th Street, the contractor is preparing for the mainline pave to be placed on September 14. The contractor will begin placing the concrete amenity pads along the parkade now that the electrical conduit and subdrain are installed, and will be followed by the bricklaying contractor as they complete the west side of the 500 block.

West 1st Street/HWY 57 Expansion- For the week of September 13, crews will be working on installing sidewalk and trail on the north side of West 1st Street/WHY 57. New signals will be installed at the intersection of Hudson Road on September 14. Stop signs will be in place as crews switch power over from the temporary signals to the permanent. This signal-related work will take approximately five hours to complete. The current construction will continue to result in restricted turning movements at the Hudson Road intersection. Trailered vehicles should choose alternative routes to avoid turning at the intersection.

2021 Street Construction Project

Brandilynn Boulevard (Stage 3) will begin removals this week. This stage will be ready for pavement preparation by the end of the week.
McClain Drive (Stage 2) will begin paving the roadway mid-week. After the mainline pavement is placed, the contractor will finish the handpours around the intersection. Work on Tremont Street is now ready for the asphalt mill and overlay beginning this week.
Subdrain work around Kaspend Place is underway. Once the subdrain is installed, the driveways will be poured back and then followed with an asphalt overlay on the street.
Patching work on Millenium Drive will begin this week.
Union Road Recreational Trail
During the week of September 6, paving operations started at West 27th Street and working north. Traffic will be maintained on Union Road throughout the project. Paving is to continue the following weeks and the contractor (Lodge) plans on working on grading and removals in the week to follow.
Cedar Heights Drive Reconstruction (Cedar Heights Drive & Greenhill Road)
For the week of September 13, crews will continue with underground utility work by installing storm sewer on the north half of the Greenhill Road and Cedar Heights Drive intersection. The current traffic pattern will continue with East and Westbound traffic on Greenhill Road maintained throughout construction. Cedar Heights Drive traffic is currently detoured around the intersection closure by posted detour signage on the following roadways: Viking Road, Prairie Parkway, Greenhill Road, and University Avenue. Chadwick Drive will be open for business and residential access to Greenhill Road will be maintained throughout the remainder of the project.
