View the latest Cedar Falls street construction updates for the week of May 17, 2021:

Downtown Streetscape and Reconstruction Project- The contractor has completed the watermain installation work along 4th Street and is now working on setting the storm sewer structures. The contractor will resume working along the west side of the 300 block portion of the parkade this week, beginning with the removal of the first 8' from the businesses out toward the curb.

West 1st Street/HWY 57 Expansion- For the week of May 17th, the contractor will begin paving operations on the south side of W. 1st Street on either side of Hudson Road (weather permitting). Also during this time, the contractor will continue to work on rocking, grading, and finish underground utilities located on the south side of W.1st Street East of Hudson Road. Head-to-Head traffic pattern will remain on the northern lanes. Flaggers may be present during paving to direct traffic through the work zone.

2021 Street Construction Project

McClain Drive- Stage 1 of McClain Drive has water services wrapped up allowing the contractor to begin preparation for the roadway pavement within a few weeks.     


Brandilynn Boulevard (West cul-de-sac east through the Andrea Drive intersection)- Stage 1 of Brandilynn Boulevard has completed the pavement removal. This week, the contractor will prepare the surface for the new pavement, with the actual paving expected to begin later in the week or the beginning of next week (May 24th).       

Olive Street- Expected to start on May 18th with removals.
