[ARCHIVED] Falls Aquatic Center 2021 Season Information

2021 pool passes for The Falls Aquatic Center will go on sale beginning May 3 through May 7, 2021. These passes can be purchased at The Falls (3025 S. Main Street) from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m., Monday – Friday.  After that, season passes will be available at the Recreation and Fitness Center only. 

COVID-19 Response

The Cedar Falls Recreation Division is monitoring the current conditions of COVID-19. The Falls Aquatic Center anticipates operating with pre-COVID-19 measures. Conditions remain fluid and the community can stay updated at or by following The Falls Aquatic Center on Facebook at @thefallsaquaticcenter.

Hours and Passes 

The 2021 summer season will run from May 29 to August 22 (weather, crowd, and staff permitting). Hours at The Falls will be Monday – Saturday, 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sundays. Holmes pool will be open daily from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. (crowd and staff permitting) through August 8.

The cost of a pool pass at The Falls for Cedar Falls residents will be $130 for adults and $125 for youth (17 years and under) and seniors ( 65 years and older). For non-residents, it will be $160 for adults and $155 for youth and seniors. Family passes (one adult and four children or less/two adults and three children or less) will cost $210 for residents and $260 for non-residents. Each additional child is $10. Child care provider passes (good Monday through Friday only) are $70. Account photo IDs will be taken for new pass holders and updated for existing patrons at the time of purchasing.

Daily admission will be available at both The Falls and Holmes pool. Daily admission at The Falls will cost $3 for infants (two and under) and $8 for youth, senior, and adults. At Holmes pool, it will cost $3 for infants (two and under) and $5 for youth, senior, and adults.

Lap swimming will be open starting June 7. Hours will be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 5:45 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. and Sunday from 5:30 p.m. to 6:20 p.m. at Holmes pool and Tuesday and Thursday from 8:15 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. at The Falls. Organized lap swim passes will be $85 for residents and $95 for non-residents.

Water walking will be open at The Falls from June 7 – August 20. Hours will be 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8:15 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Stretching Aqua Trim classes will be offered at The Falls this summer. Call (319) 273-8636 for information.


The annual Black Hawk Area Swim Team Summer Sizzler will be held July 8 – 11 this year.  The lap pool will close at 4:00 p.m. on July 8 and remain closed until 1:00 p.m. on July 11 for this event.

The doggy dip will be held this summer on August 23 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (weather and staff permitting) at The Falls. All licensed dogs must be accompanied by at least one adult owner and up to two additional humans. The cost of admission is $5 per dog (includes owner). Additional owners/guests are $4 each. Season swim passes will not be honored. All those entering the pool area should be prepared to get wet.
