Beginning Monday, April 12, 2021, the contractor will begin Stage 1 reconstruction of McClain Drive by closing McClain Drive from Orchard Drive to the North past the intersection of Lilac Lane. In order for the contractor to begin pavement removal, a full road closure will be required. The road closure will be in effect for up to eight weeks, depending on the weather.
The planned work for this street includes removal of the existing pavement, and driveway approaches, installation of new water main and storm sewer, new concrete pavement and driveway approaches, and sod from the back of the new curb to the front edge of the sidewalk.
For safety's sake, please stay away from the construction area. Heavy equipment will be moving back and forth on the closed street. It would be advisable to stay behind the sidewalk on the property side during the reconstruction work.
During the closure, alternate garbage pickup points will be required for residents who normally place automated collection carts within the closure area of McClain Drive. Residents can place their collection carts on the open portion of McClain Drive, Lilac Lane, or Orchard Drive during this stage of the street closure shown with the yellow boxes. This should be done on the normal collection day for that particular street.
