Due to the severe storm which took place July 9, the City of Cedar Falls will be conducting a yard waste pick-up day on Monday, July 13.
Residents should have their carts to the curb for pick-up by 7:00 AM on July 13. Items that are considered to be yard waste include brush, tree, fruit, vegetable, and yard debris. Residents are reminded to not overpack their carts and abide by the 250 pound limit. No dirt, sod, or ashes are allowed in the yard waste carts. Please do not pack the carts too tightly as it makes it difficult to empty.
If a resident has large debris from City trees, the City will pick them up. For personal property trees, they will need to take them to the Compost Facility themselves. The Compost Facility is located at the 300 block of East Main Street in Cedar Falls and is open Monday – Sunday, from dawn to dusk. Materials accepted at the facility are brush, logs, leaves, garden waste, and grass clippings.
Normal pick-up fee will apply. Learn more about yard waste collection and the Compost Facility at https://www.cedarfalls.com/156/Yard-Waste-Collection-Information.
Please call the Cedar Falls Public Works Department at (319) 273-8629, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM, with any questions.
