To protect the community from the spread of COVID-19, the Black Hawk County Police Memorial Event will be canceled this year. The decision came from police chiefs around the county in the interest of public health.
The event has annually occurred during National Police Week, May 10 – May 16, to honor police officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty. The public is encouraged to continue this tradition by remembering those officers who have given the ultimate sacrifice to protect and serve our communities.
