The City of Waterloo and their contractor are continuing work on the reconstruction of the University Avenue Reconstruction Project Phases 1 and 2 from Midway Drive to Ansborough Avenue and Phase 3 from Ansborough Avenue to Hwy 63. Below is how this will impact Cedar Falls starting the week of April 20, 2020:
For the week of April 20, 2020, University Avenue traffic will remain head-to-head from west of Midway Drive to east of Greenhill Road on the eastbound lanes (south side). Access will remain for Midway Drive and Access B (Tunis). University Avenue traffic will continue to have lane closures from east of Greenhill Road to Falls Avenue. University Avenue traffic will remain closed on University Avenue from east of Knoll Avenue to west of Hwy 63/Sergeant Road and Fletcher Avenue from Hope Martin Park to north of Joder Avenue. At the Knoll Avenue intersection, eastbound University Avenue and northbound Knoll Avenue traffic will be permitted to turn left.

During this time, University Avenue from Cedar Heights Drive to Knoll Avenue will remain open and access to the frontage roads will remain. Similar to previous years, business and detour signs will be utilized during construction.
For safety purposes, please do not enter the construction area. Heavy equipment will be moving back and forth on the closed lanes. It would be advisable to remain behind the sidewalk on the property side during the reconstruction work.
