In 2019, crimes in Cedar Falls dropped 1.63% with 2,115 reportable crimes. There were 18,620 total calls for service, an increase of 2.56% over the previous year. Arrests decreased by 3.18% with 944 total arrests.
Overall, crime in Cedar Falls has decreased 17.8% in the last 10 years. This coincides with FBI statistics that show that Cedar Falls is a much safer community when compared to the average crime rate in Iowa or the US. FBI stats show violent crime rates in Cedar Falls are significantly less than the national average.
