The Wild Historic District (423, 501 and 509 W. 1st Street) is being nominated to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The Cedar Falls Historic Preservation Commission invites you to attend a special event to learn about this district, the history concerning the Daniel Wild family and their contributions to Cedar Falls commerce and industry in the late 19th century, and to explore the NRHP and the benefits of a listing. If the nomination is accepted, this would be the first nationally recognized residential historic district in the City of Cedar Falls! The submission of the nomination will be officially considered on the May 20th City Council meeting.
