Summer is right around the corner and it is the perfect time to get out and enjoy the newly installed playground equipment at Bess Streeter Park located at 2900 Hiawatha Road in Cedar Falls!
The park now features multiple slides with a small rock climbing wall, a zip line, an inclusive swing, and a generation swing that allows an adult to sit facing an infant for better security.

"We have been listening to the community on what they would like to see in our park improvement projects," said Kevin Cross, Cedar Falls Parks Supervisor. "The zip line, in particular, has been a favorite of kids so we are very happy to have it here."
The new zip line is made of durable materials and can hold up to 286 pounds.

Cross also pointed to the importance of inclusive equipment and the impact it can make for all members of the community.
"As we update our parks, one of the goals is to find ways to improve safety and promote more accessibility by including items such as inclusive and companion swings," said Cross. "Parks are here to bring people together and we look forward to how these improvements at Bess Streeter will do that both for this summer and for many more to come!"
