Kelly Dunn 

Kelly grew up on a farm south of Aurora, Iowa. She moved to Cedar Falls in 1996, and attended UNI and Hawkeye Community College. She is married to Chris, a Cedar Falls native, and they have three children: Emma, Tucker, and Wyatt.

August 10, 2020 - December 31, 2025 

Due to the beginning of Rob Green's Mayoral term on January 2, 2020, Kelly is fulfilling the duration of his original At Large term which ends December 31, 2021.  She was sworn in on August 10, 2020, after winning the Cedar Falls City Council At Large Vacancy Special Election.

Kelly is a Licensed Practical Nurse currently working in the clinic setting of one of our local health organizations.

Commitment to Community 


Kelly is community minded and an active volunteer within our community. She currently serves on the Cedar River Festival Group board. You will also see her ringing the bell for the Salvation Army, organizing large group participation at her place of work to support the Northeast Iowa Food Bank, and volunteering at Cedar Heights Elementary and Peet Junior High.

Kelly ran for City Council because of her love for the community of Cedar Falls. Among her top priorities are traffic/bicycle/pedestrian safety, smart development and growth of our city, lessening our city's carbon footprint, and ensuring that Cedar Falls is welcoming and inclusive of all people. She sees sitting on City Council as a way to serve the community of Cedar Falls and is excited to get to work.
