The historic Cedar Falls downtown district is home to a wide array of locally-owned shops, unique restaurants, and thriving nightlife plus year-round events for all ages.

Parking: The downtown district parking options include FREE 15 minute, 2 hour, 3 hour, 4, and 24 hour (overnight) parking. Free parking is also available in certain shared business lots including Viking Pump. To view downtown parking maps, click here

Parking Enforcement Hours: Monday – Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Public Electric Vehicle Charging Station: A dual-port Level 2 charger is located on West Second Street (across from City Hall). The charger is compatible with most electric vehicles. Learn more at

College Hill

Adjacent to the University of Northern Iowa, the College Hill district offers unique and innovative recreational, educational, retail, entertainment, and cultural activities.

Parking: College Hill offers FREE 15 minute, 1 hour, 2 hour, parking. To view the College Hill parking map, click here.

Paid Parking Options: To allow for flexible, longer-term parking options for visitors to the area, paid parking is available in two municipal parking lots in the College Hill area. Rates are .50 cents per hour during parking enforcement times. 

These municipal lots are free to the community in June and July of each year. 

Parking Enforcement Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
