Functions

Human resource functions are provided through the human resources division, which is composed of three HR personnel and one Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Specialist.

  • Compensation and benefits administration
  • Job classifications
  • Labor and union relations
  • Staffing: interviewing, recruiting, performance appraisal, separation of employees, screening, testing, training
  • Personnel policy development and administration

Civil Service Commission

The Cedar Falls Civil Service Commission provides assistance to the city in complying with Chapter 400 of the State Code of Iowa. Chapter 400 addresses requirements regarding public sector employment, promotions, demotions, disciplinary actions, and removal or discharge of employees.
