2023 Alley Reconstruction

Beginning the week of, Monday, August 14, 2023, the contractor will begin reconstruction of the alley from W. 12^th Street to W. 13^th Street between Walnut Street and Iowa Street. In order for the contractor to begin, an alley and road closure will be required. The contractor is planning on starting with the W. 13^th Street crossing and then coming into the alley. The W. 13^th Street Closing will be in effect for two (2) weeks, and the alley closure will be in effect for five (5) to six (6) weeks, depending on the weather. Please see the closure area highlighted on the map.  

 All refuse pick-up that is typically collected in the alley will now be picked up along either W. 12^th or W. 13^th Street at the locations shown on the attached map. The day for refuse pick-up will not change due to this project.  

 For safety's sake, please stay away from the construction area. Heavy equipment will be moving back and forth on the closed alley. It would be advisable to stay behind the sidewalk on the property side during the reconstruction work. Beginning the week of, Thursday, July 20, 2023, the contractor will begin reconstruction of the alley from W. 13^th Street to W. 14^th Street between Franklin Street and Clay Street. In order for the contractor to begin, an alley closure will be required. The closure will be in effect for four (4) to six (6) weeks, depending on the weather. Please see the closure area highlighted below. 

For safety's sake, please stay away from the construction area. Heavy equipment will be moving back and forth on the closed alley. It would be advisable to stay behind the sidewalk on the property side during the reconstruction work. Beginning Wednesday, June 28, 2023, the contractor will begin reconstruction of the alley from 2nd Street to 3rd Street between Main Street and State Street. In order for the contractor to begin, an alley closure will be required. For Phase 1 of the alley, the southern half of the alley will be closed. The closure will be in effect for three (3) to six (6) weeks, depending on the weather. Please see the closure area highlighted on the map below.

Garbage and yard waste collection will temporarily be moved onto the side streets (East 2nd Street and East 3rd Street). The time and day of pickup will not change for the duration of this closure.
