Gil Schultz
Gil was born in Postville, Iowa, then moved with his parents (Mel and Peg) and two sisters (Deb and Gail) to Cedar Falls in the mid 1960's, where he began Kindergarten at North Cedar Elementary School with a group of other students who would eventually become the CFHS graduating class of 1979.
Gil and his wife Dianne met in high school and have been married since 1982, they raised their three children (AJ, Kyle and Ashli) in Cedar Falls where they each also graduated from CFHS. Gil and Dianne are also happy grandparents to seven grandchildren.

Employment Background
Gil retired from the John Deere Waterloo Works as the Safety and Health Manager in 2016 after nearly 30 years. He currently is an Adjunct Professor at UNI where he has taught classes since 2013.
Commitment to Community
Contributing to the community is very important to Gil and one of his motivations leading to his run for city council. Historically he has been on numerous boards including one of his favorites The House of Hope which serves to help empower women. Also volunteering at the Salvation Army, United Way, Boy Scouts, CFHS Boosters, Junior Achievement, Cedar Valley Foodbank, and Habitat for Humanity.
