What We Do
The Patrol Unit of the Cedar Falls Police Department is broken into three different shifts to provide 24-hour service to the community.
Functions
The functions of the Patrol Unit includes, but is not limited to:
- Traffic Direction and Control
- Traffic Enforcement
- Preventive Patrol
- Accident Investigation
- Communications
Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the Patrol Unit include:
- Crime prevention activities.
- Response to calls for service.
- Investigation of crimes, offenses and incidents.
- Apprehension and/or arrest of offenders.
- Regulation of certain businesses or activities as required by law.
- Maintenance of public order.
- Provision of emergency services.
- Development of relations between citizens and Division Personnel.
- Gathering intelligence information.
- Reporting of information to appropriate organizational components.
