About the Park

Acquired in 1922, this riverfront park serves (along with Tourist Park) as the northern entrance to downtown Cedar Falls . It originally had animals, a carousel and a tiny train for the entertainment of children and adults. Island Park is an important link in the recreation trail system. The Park has a variety of shaded and open areas for use along the Cedar River.

Beach House Rental

The Beach House was destroyed by 2008 flooding, it has been removed and is no longer available for rental.  The city is currently considering if the structure will be reconstructed.  Please contact the Cedar Falls Recreation Center and they could assist you in finding another shelter for your use.
