Main City Calendar

  1. West 15th Street Road Construction

    June 20 - August 3 @ West 15th Street between College Street and Walnut Street, also between Clay Street and Main Street

    • Curb and Gutter Spot Repair The roadway will remain open during these removals but may be limited to access from one end or the other depending on where the contractor is working. During this construction, street parking and driveway access along W. 15th Street will be limited. The contractor will post “No Parking” signs along the street prior to the start of construction. Once these are posted please be sure to relocate your vehicles out of your driveway. • Concrete Placement Curb and gutter replacement will be poured. Once the concrete is poured, residents will not have driveway access for approximately five (5) days to allow the driveways to cure and be backfilled. • Base Pavement The base will be placed in one day and may be driven on immediately. • Surface Pavement During surface paving the roadway will be closed for approximately one (1) day to allow the pavement to cool. Weather permitting this process will take approximately four (4) to six (6) weeks.

    June 24, 5:00 PM - June 26, 5:00 PM @ New to the 2016 festival is the satellite venue at New Aldaya located at 7511 University Ave, Cedar Falls, IA. New Aldaya will host traditional jazz bands throughout the weekend. The main stage is at Sturgis Park located behind the Ice House Museum.

    Enjoy over 40 hours of jazz at this unique, free festival within a festival. Bands from around the country perform live in Sturgis Park all weekend! This year's line-up includes the Dandelion Stompers, Amelia & Melina, Dylan Sires & Neighbors, The Nadas, Saints Dixieland Band, and The Steepwater Band.
