Cedar Falls Public Library Opening By Appointment July 6

The Cedar Falls Public Library will be open for browsing by appointment only beginning Monday, July 6. No-contact curbside service will continue for those who cannot or choose not to wear a mask and for those who wish to limit their interactions with others. Curbside printing pickup is also available, and the cost of printing will be added to your account.

Because we want to stay open for you, in accordance with recommendations from local, state, and national health organizations, CFPL will comply with the following safety protocols:

--Everyone in the library must wear a mask or snugly fitting face covering over the mouth and nose at all times while in the building.
--Signage and floor decals are in place to indicate physical distance of at least six feet at service areas.
--Hand sanitizer is available throughout the building, and disinfectant wipes are available for wiping hard surfaces.
--The library will be closed from 12:00-2:00 p.m. each day for cleaning.
--Some furniture has been removed.
--All toys, games, puzzles, and other playthings have been temporarily removed from the youth department.
--As you are browsing, please place items you have touched but do not want to check out on the designated carts/tables for staff to quarantine before reshelving.
--Drinking fountains are currently unavailable, but water bottle fillers are still available on the first floor.
--Because masks are required at all times in the building, please do not consume food or drinks during your appointment.
--Some computers are available for use independently. Computer and device assistance is limited to what is possible from a distance of six feet.
--When you arrive for your appointment, please distance yourself from others in the atrium, and wait at the door from the atrium into the library until a staff member checks you in.

To make an appointment, please call one of our service desks 9:00-5:00 Monday through Saturday: 319-273-8643 (circulation desk); 319-268-5543 (reference desk); 319-859-3282 (youth desk).

**All plans are subject to change as conditions warrant.
Please see for complete instructions.
