City Council Committees

Committee meetings are open to the public and normally take place prior to a regular scheduled city council meeting. These meetings provide an opportunity for communication between staff, City Council, and the public at an early stage of policy development and to obtain an enhanced level of preparedness on matters of a technical nature affecting public policy.

Each committee is made up of all seven council members. One of the council members is appointed by the Mayor to act as the chair of the committee.

Committee meeting times vary depending on the agenda items. Time periods for individual topics represent an estimate that is subject to change based on the time of completion of the previous committee topics.

Community Relations and Planning Committee

Community Relations and Planning Committee topics will generally consist of matters brought forward by the Director of Community Development.

Public Works Committee

Public Works Committee topics will generally consist of matters brought forward by the Director of Public Works.
